How To Save The World Podcast
We are environmental advocate Waveney Warth and award-winning comedian Tim Batt and we’d love you to join us as we explore better ways to a better future. How To Save The World is sustainability the kiwi way: Upbeat. Informed. Simple.
Our mission is to help listeners make more sustainable choices to help our planet. Each episode, we break down complicated sustainability issues into an entertaining and informing 40 minute chat. We follow the science, the experts and the changemakers who are showing us how to save the world through individual action each one of us can take every day. We aim to inspire a message of positive change through incrementalism and education.
We think a bright future for our planet won’t come about by finger-wagging but by bringing people together and learning from one another.

Waveney Warth is an environmental communicator and zero-waste advocate - In fact, she started doing before it was cool! In 2008, she and her husband, Matthew publicly journalled their challenge to produce zero waste for an entire year on our TV screens via Campbell Live and wrote extensively about the challenge in NZ’s largest newspaper, the NZ Herald. More recently, Waveney and Matthew bought Rainbow Valley Farm in Matakana - an overgrown old permaculture farm which they are restoring with the help of volunteers. Waveney is an environmental consultant at Envision.nz.
Tim Batt is a multi-awarding winning stand up comedian, broadcaster, podcaster and producer. Known for his political comedy and social commentary, he took his first steps on his sustainability through How To Save The World and is documenting his education in real time on the show, including learning how to compost, reducing his waste footprint and a six month foray into veganism.
